Charles\, PhD \nProfessor of Psychology and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California-Irvine \n  \nSusan T. Charles is Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California-Irvine. Her research examines social and socioemotional processes across the adult life span\, and how they are related to cognitive\, physical and mental health.  She has published over 150 articles and chapters and is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and the Association for Psychological Science; recipient of the 2023 Distinguished Mentorship in Gerontological Award from the Gerontological Society of America; and recipient of the 2025 Baltes Distinguished Research Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association for her work in adulthood and development.
